Creating Culture in The Social Media Free Era

June 6, 2017  |  By amptnow

Let’s flashback to a time when social media didn’t exist, a time when the internet was just starting out and a new concept to most everyone.

Would you know how to create innovative and positive culture in that type of work environment?

As a 20-something millennial, I couldn’t imagine trying to create a company or company culture in a social media free world. So, I took a lesson from an expert, Mr. Blake Whitney, co-founder and first president of WebMD.

Mr. Whitney is one of the founders and the first president of WebMD and he is also an investor, adviser, and fund liaison for several companies. He started WebMD with a total of six employees and watched it grow to 1,900 in just two years. He has been a director and on the board of multiple companies and start-ups, guiding them to a more successful future and assisting in strategic business planning.

Learning how he could administrate and obtain a positive, innovative culture by walking around the office was fascinating. By doing so, he brought culture and communication around the office to a whole new level. Mr. Whitney’s strategies provide ample opportunity for successful employee recognition platforms and a substantial boost in employee performance.

I had a great time with Mr. Whitney and learned a bunch of helpful tricks, so I asked him if he would share his knowledge with the AMPT team and our acquaintances. Blake Whitney will be our next co-host in our webinar series. You won’t want to miss a chance to learn from such an influential business man.

Be on the look out for an invitation via email and on AMPT’s social media accounts. Our webinar will be June 15th at noon (Central) with Mr. Blake Whitney. And believe me, you won’t want to miss these tips and stories.
